Driving Lessons Gloucester- Customer Review.

"I had quite a few driving lessons with another driving school and didn't seem to get anywhere, so I lost interest and gave up. My cousin was having lessons with John Lowe Driving and recommended them to me. I contacted them and Lis was so friendly and reassuring that I booked up lessons. My driving instructor is John Lowe and I'm getting on so well after a few lessons with him that I can't believe it. John said today that we will probably start reversing next lesson. It's been such a difference, I can't recommend them enough!"

Driving Lessons Gloucester- Test Fraud.

More novice motorists in Britain are being caught trying to cheat the written and practical driving tests by hiring lookalikes, figures show.

From April to the end of December 2014, there were 677 reported cases, compared with 554 for the whole of 2013-14 and 628 in 2012-13, the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) said.

Criminals are charging up to £1,800 to sit an exam, according to the Times.

The DVSA said this type of crime was a serious offence, but extremely rare.
The figures, which were released following a Freedom of Information request from the newspaper, show 188 arrests have been carried out so far in 2014-15.
There have been 55 convictions for fraud offences, 37 people have been jailed and 97 driving licences revoked.
In 2011-12, there were 816 reported cases of driver fraud but with three months remaining of the 2014-15 financial year, that figure could be surpassed.
In 2004, on the other hand, just 158 impersonation cases were detected.
The DVSA says approximately 1.5 million written tests and 1.6 million practical driving tests take place every year.

The figures for the number of arrests and convictions include test candidates, as well as the impersonators or others implicated in the scam, it adds.

Alastair Peoples, chief executive of the DVSA, said such criminal activity "puts innocent road users at risk".

Driving Lessons Gloucester- How is your Driving Test Marked?

Your practical driving test will be conducted by a Driving Examiner from the D V S A (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.) These are expert examiners, who have undergone rigorous training, and whose standards are frequently checked. The system is in place to ensure that the roads are as safe as possible, and it is a fair way of seeing that we all have the required skills.
The D V S A examiner will use a marking form known as a DL25. There are numerous sections on this form, for each main requirement of driving, and faults will be recorded as they occur.
Minor faults are now referred to as driving faults and you can commit 15 driving faults and still pass. If you commit 16 faults, however, you will fail. Should there be habitual driving faults, these will eventually accumulate into a serious fault, which is also a failed test.
Just one serious fault, or one dangerous fault is a test fail.
A serious fault is any action that is potentially dangerous.
A dangerous fault is any action that is actually dangerous.
These must be avoided to achieve a pass.

When you start your driving test, the DL25 will be a clean sheet, so you must do your best to keep it that way. Faults will only be added as they occur, so you must keep them to a minimum. Do not worry if you think you have made a fault, the examiner may decide differently, so just drive on positively, with the aim of passing the test.

Listen to your driving instructor, he really has a wealth of knowledge to help you through the test.

Driving Lessons Gloucester- Standards Check Workshop.

Standards Check Workshop.
Earlier in the week, Tom and me attended a Standards Check Workshop, that was held just outside Gloucester. The workshop was run by Blaine and Louise Walsh, who are well known in the driver training industry and offer updates and training to driving instructors. We attended because things change, sometimes quickly, and we wanted to be sure we are up to date with everything. It was a very good day, and we have come away with the latest techniques that are being looked for by the DVSA. New information is always out there, you just have to go and find it. The requirements for driver training have changed beyond recognition since I started and it's good to stay up to date.
Thanks, John.

Customer Review from Thomas Elson of Gloucester.

"On my driving lesson today, with John Lowe Driving, we decided to start on reverse manouevres. We decided on a turn in the road. My driving instructor, Tom Lowe, asked me some initial questions, and it was surprising how much I knew in theory. Tom talked me through it a couple of times and then I did it on my own a couple of times, each time getting better. I feel happy and confident now and I know it will get easier. Tom had some great tips to help me remember each stage."

Driving Lessons Gloucester- Customer Review.

Customer Review from Kayleigh Williams of Gloucester.

"I had a really good driving lesson today with my instructor, Martyn Brewer. We have been working on manouevres in the last few lessons and today I managed to parallel park the car three times without any help. I did it twice and then we went to a different car which was much bigger, and the wrong way round, but I still managed it. Martyn has shown me some techniques for all the manouevres, but I found parallel parking quite hard, but following Martyns system I can now do it. I'm so happy! Have driving lessons with John Lowe Driving and ask for Martyn!"
